Behind the Scenes.
The one who wanted to make a way for people to have an online museum of Radio Aahs/Aahs World Radio and thus preserving memory and actual recordings, videos, pics, and more from the first national radio station for children. One of their tag lines was "Great Music For Great Kids." It was something special, even if it was shortly lived, but long enough for some one to grow up with it. One of which being me Melissa A. Canchola. I went to nearly every local promotional events at the local affiliate known as AM 830 KPLS Orange/Los Angeles, with the local "Radio Aahs AIrforce,"the local "Kid DJ," bunch. I first heard about Radio Aahs sometime in 1992, when my Dad had a girlfriend named Shari.
She lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, before and had moved to California. She told my Dad about it, because she knew I liked stuff like singing along to "Animaniacs," songs I had on CD. I would hear it also, because there was a Drive In movie theater called, "Highway 39," in Orange County. They had the station that you listened to for the movie on AM 830. So I would get to hear that until it was time to watch the movie. I went to so many events, they knew me by name and also was made an honorary "Radio Aahs Airforce," member. I got a dark blue shirt with the "Aahs" logo similar to the one used on this website. I won prizes from local contests, got to meet nearly all the West Coast team, people like Bruce Barker, Rita Pardue, Joel Steven, R.J. Arnett, Kyle Ellison, Nicole Antoinette, Jennifer (G.) Gonzalez, Ashley McCormick Alex Morrow, Jazz (also know as Amy Russell), and more. I would talk to the late night staff sometimes while they were on the job like Jim Bonner, Rocky Holiday and Tammy Morgan. There's lots more to be told, but for now..
